Mysore style self-practice classes

The traditional way to practice Ashtanga Yoga, as taught in Mysore, India.


You practice at you own pace, in your own time. You learn the postures one at a time and are moved on either when you can remember the sequence or have mastered the posture to the best of your ability. So you never have to remember more than two or three new postures. The teacher is there to give guidance and adjustments as needed.

It is often described as a one to one class in a group setting.


This class is perfect for everyone, from advanced practitioners to complete beginners.


Please note This is NOT a led class, you do not follow the teacher at the front. you are expected to work on your own and the teacher walks around the class giving guidance as needed.


These classes run every  Sunday at 10:30am,  in Cheadle.

Traditional Friday Primary Sanskrit counted led class.

This is a dynamic and sometimes challenging practice which leads you through a full primary series.

Its a small but warm room with an incredible energy.

Maximum 10 places. booking is recommended.

Ashtanga Beginners are welcome to join us in the Mysore class on Sundays but be prepared to do a bit of repetition as that's the only way to fully remember the postures.


This is a great way to begin an Ashtanga practice as you only have to remember small amounts of postures at any one time and are given time to embed those postures in your memory before moving on.

 

This way you remember the postures for life. It is best to book a five class pass for this.

Beginners

Absolute Beginners Yoga classes every Wednesday  6pm at Yoga Sangha Cheadle .

If you have never done yoga before then this is the class for you.


We go back to complete basics and focus on breathing and connecting the breath to the movement.


It is suitable for anyone who can breathe and would like to do yoga. No previous experience necessary.


This is NOT an ashtanga class!

One to One Classes

Sometimes it is nice to have a bit of time for just you, especially if you would like to build a personal yoga practice or work with modifications suited to just your body.


A one to one class is an ideal way to tailor the practice to your own needs and work on the postures you need more help with.


We can bring the class to you, in your home at a time that suits you.


It’s a great way to begin your yoga practice, to help you to feel more confident when attending a busy class. You can work on alignment and breath and Bandha to make sure you get it right.


It is a great way to deepen an already established practice, with individual attention to help you to progress with postures that you may feel stuck on. Or maybe you are returning to your practice after having a break from it and feel that you might benefit from a little one to one attention to help you to keep up in class.


A private yoga class is a great gift  to give someone for a  birthday or Christmas present. You could even have your own yoga class for you and a couple of friends in your own home. It is a beautiful gift to give and would be a perfect start to a special day. Contact us for more information.


You can Book a one to one private class with Donna in your home and  learn more about the practice so that you feel more prepared to  join a regular class.


Private classes cost £50 per hour, ask about discounts for block booking of five or more.
